Good Lord this took forever. But it was completely worth it.

I've had this sketch done for who knows how long. Several months I do believe. It took me around 3 1/2 days and between 40-50 layers. A relatively simple piece, yes, but very effective in my opinion.

Before anyone spats out saying "OMG that BG is soooo ugly and liek totally doesn't fit!" You must know the scene was taken in in an Ambivian Mall. I could have made it look totally wicked sweet in some way but that's just not how my artwork goes. I work with metaphorical, straight forward stuff. Nothing classy and fancy.

Story information (may skip):
As far as the scene in particular goes, this was soon after Nelthilta and Garin (who is currently 2 weeks old -remember he ages quickly) finally made it to civilization after Nelthilta was forced to retreat elsewhere in order to protect her son from being killed by the Royals after her unwanted pregnancy (via magical spell plz). She must hide Garin on account that he's half Lanian. The Ambivians are currently in war with the race and thus people don't much favor them in the least bit.

Normally living in isolation with only an elderly Ambivian female knowing of their existence, they were forced to venture to a local, run down town mall when the lady becomes ill and is in need of their assistance in keeping her well. Nelthilta tried to conceal Garin in her backpack while trying to find the needed items only to have him escape when a lightning storm knocks the power out and startles him.

Soon enough, Vennek, one of Nelthilta recent pre-mates (boyfriend) and his gang (readers of the fan fic version may know them) show up and stumble across the poor helpless pup. Nelthilta, stealing a police uniform, catches up to them and gives them the fight of their life. She manages to get back to her backpack and get a hold of her gun. Eventually escaping from the mall and going back to their solitude.

When it comes to just who she shot, I'm not gonna reveal that just yet cause I know it taunts you. >X3

Before anyone points out both the gun and it's "blast" I DID reference the pistol with one of my dad's/mine to get accuracy (though I might have added in a couple things by mistake) and the blast is supposed to be like that. Ambivian Royal pistols shoot twice as powerful and tend to spark like that of a small cannon. Why? Because the typical Ambivian is anywhere from 6 to 8 feet tall so everything else is obviously larger in comparison to ours. So... our pistols are about... 6 inches in length while theirs are nearly a foot. So more power can fit within the barrels.
