Dashing Through the Snowflakes

Merry Decemberween everyone!

I suppose I sorta cheated this year for a holiday pic considering this picture is actually over a year old. I did everything on it minus the background because I couldn't think of what to do. In the middle of the year I finally figured it out but didn't bother actually finishing it. But hey, tonight's good enough of a time as any, eh? 8D

I think the original idea for the image was to contrast an old reindeer picture I did back in the day. Although it turned out a lot differently since it follows more accurate, but stylized anatomy as opposed to the old one which was more "my own version" or something. Either way, I really like how this came out.

Don't really know why I made the antlers be in velvet. I guess cause the brown stuck out more and blended in less than white.

Fun facts: Did you know reindeer are also known as caribou? And that both males and females grow antlers in most cases? So Santa's eight flying reindeer very well could be a mixture of genders, not all strictly male. The more you know~
