Graphic Elements

I don't really post a whole lot of school related work, but I figured I'd post something to explain my lack of quality personal art lately (and TS updates). This is one project from my Graphic Design class where we basically just had to make 6 graphics and match a word to them using Illustrator. Which, btw, I hate illustrator without using a tablet. HATE IT SO MUCH. The shading on these things took 10 times longer than photoshop shading. Ugggh. ;n;

I had quite a variety of sketches, a lot of which were NOT animals, but the teacher in particular liked all the ones with animals in them sooooo it conveniently worked out that way. It still kinda bothered me though (even though I do primarily animals in my personal work, I prefer to use non-animals for school assignments if I can help it to improve my variety) so I threw in the mermaid, which was at least partly human, while still carrying the "mystical" or "fairy tale" looking aspect.

OF COURSE THIS IS GOING TO CHANGE NEXT PROJECT WHEN I DO STEPHEN KING VILLAINS WHICH ARE MOSTLY HUMAN GOODY I'M GONNA FREAKIN' DIE.

I also followed a "geometric" style scheme which explains why everything is very jagged and pointy.
I ended up really disliking my text and some of my effects (like the clouds and the bubbles) but my classmates and teacher approved so I just rolled with it. Like a boss. >:I

Critiques are awesome by the way because my teacher goes into a lot of the technical stuff, but not a whooole lot on the art. So I would appreciate anything, even if it may take me awhile to fix anything since I still got 6 more weeks of this thing and ALSO DID I MENTION STEPHEN KING VILLAINS WHICH ARE ALL HUMAN IN ILLUSTRATOR WITHOUT A TABLET.
