Description

Personal practice piece to play with Clip Studio again.
I've also been in a Lanian mood lately. Once I draw one... I can't stop!

Pictured here is my character Elpay. Older watchers would know him as High Priest Elpay and he used to look quite a bit different (and he also cameo'd in The Selection). Though I do want to point out... his orbs and eyes are still purple. The purples are just pink-like in this color scheme - whoops!

Not unlike many things from my Calestine Princess story, he got a redesign and his story tweaked. He's a priest in-training under his older brother (previously his twin) Dareh. He is very young, just blossoming into adolescence, which explains his single-tine horns/antlers (I still haven't decided what they actually are). Elpay is a gentle soul and very timid. He's quite a good problem-solver but is also fairly naive. His philosophy is to "experiment with everything until you find a solution that works with minimum harm". He's also the least-violent and has hardly a single aggressive bone in his body. You could easily beat him to death with a stick and he wouldn't do anything about it, which irritates Dareh who is constantly having to protect him (15 foot dinosaur aliens should carry their own you dummy!).

Elpay plays a significant role in the story, having rescued princess Nelthilta during a bombing of the Royal Palace early in the Lanian War. He cares deeply for Nelthilta and vows to protect her and later Garin. Elpay and Dareh are hiding on Ambivia throughout the majority of the story, having fled from their ship (with a stolen portal) when they declared mutiny against the cause. Both he and Nelthilta kind of "grow up" together during the turmoil.

Ambiva is nowhere near the moorish/swampy/watery habitat Lanians are accustomed to. As amphibious creatures, they require a water source to live comfortably and survive. Without a constant source of water their skin and sails will dry out and form wounds or tears. In addition, they are used to a darker, less expansive and empty environment. Thus, the open fields and spotty thick forests of Ambivia are not in their favor and cause a lot of troubles for them throughout their stay.

Something else to add, I included a PLANET in the sky! I don't know why I constantly forget to include one sometimes. I mean, not that I know jack about space and planets and when they would and wouldn't appear throughout the day (god do I try but god does it make my brain hurt understanding it). The planet is known formerly as "the mystic world" in my 15 year old language but I renamed the thing and can't remember what the hell it was. I am the worst at naming species and planets. Either way, it's the largest planet in the system that Ambivia orbits (it is the home to The Alfas and some other stories like Maternal and now-dead Power of War).
