Slow Goin's

Greetings all! A short update this time.

I had been hesitating to post up this journal, hoping things would settle down a bit and I'd get back into shape, but since my first attempt to post that was the beginning of the month and it's still going... it's probably best to post it anyway.

Home life at current is very hectic, is about the brunt of it. My dad just had back surgery the end of last month and after dealing with some odd hallucination from his meds amongst other things, I briefly thought things were starting to level out to normality but it seems to only be going in a crazy rollercoaster effect. We've been struggling a lot dealing with his pain med addiction (something I touched upon awhile back) and it has been more extreme the past week as this is the anniversary of 1 year since my grandmother's/his mother's death and he was officially let go of his job, so depression has started to sink in. So all things combined, on top of the pain from the back surgery, things have been an absolute headache for my mom and I. In fact, just in the midst of writing this journal another annoyance happened we had to deal with, and it's 1:30 a.m. It's such a pain. Such a massive, anger-inducing pain. This isn't something we can have sympathy for, is the sad thing. When you've dealt with nonsense 20+ years you lose your ability to be sympathetic to a person, no matter how they are feeling.

This has made finding motivation to complete art very difficult. I am definitely making progress on all of my pieces, but it's painfully slow. I can only seem to draw for short spurts of time before my mind starts wandering off. I haven't even been able to make significant leeway on Camp NaNoWriMo, which is very unusual for me. I can usually write like the wind, but now I can barely muster the 800 word requirement per day.

I just wanted to update everyone on this because these are likely factors to why things are going to be delayed as of late. I'll give a status below on where I'm at on things.
It's just extremely disappointing. I was hoping to spend this summer completing projects but nothing of the sort has been happening. If anything I'm falling behind. I was also hoping to start up commissions again and push them more, but at this rate I refuse to do such because I refuse to let my clients wait eons for their art. Something I'm worried about as I got the go-ahead on my second book illustration gig and now need to focus on that (thankfully it's HUGELY less intensive this time).

So long story short, I apologize for no progress on comic pages and slow goings in general for everything else. I'll keep truckin', it just might be at a horrendously slow pace for a bit. Same goes with commenting/replying on things, though for the most part I've kept on top of that. Also, as another mention, just because you see me online does not mean I'm actually online. I go on mobile more often than not, and I don't often reply/comment on things from there.
