Strengths:
Insanely intelligent (book smart). A walking encyclopedia.  
Can hold things in their tentacles & have tiny hands.
Their "hair" is actually prickly spines like a hedgehog.

Abilities:
They can climb walls, like a spider.
They can understand any language without assistance from the computers.
The device on their throat allows them to talk in any language. They cannot physically speak, though, so without it they cannot communicate at all. Their mouth does not move when they talk.

Weaknesses:
Not physically strong by any means (can barely keep itself up on walls).
Has no real defense other than their spines, which are not that sharp.
Poor runner/very slow.
Even poorer stamina.

Personality: Janie is always seen smiling so it's generally assumed they are happy but no one actually knows. They are quiet, only really speaking when they need to. When they do talk, sometimes they can come off as a smart aleck/know-it-all, though it's not intentional. They're extremely ignorant at reading people emotionally (Ex: it can't register if someone is being aggressive in order to flee) and they have no common sense or street smarts, despite being so intelligent. They love nothing more than to observe people. It's a little creepy.

History: Swivel are a race little is known about, and they prefer to keep it that way. All that is known about Swivel is that they consist of something akin to a hive-mind, sending hoards of drones out onto different planets in order to gather information for their leaders back home. Janie, no different from their fellow species, joins Xotiathon to gather information. Considering so many different races collect at the event, Janie sees the opportunity as prime real estate for their research.
